Cormiston Farm - Chiara + Andrew

I love nothing more than a relaxed and authentic Scottish wedding venue and Cormiston Farm just outside Biggar on the edge of the Scottish Borders, ticks all of my boxes.

A family run wedding venue, with a traditional Scottish house to get ready in, an amazing, rustic barn for dinner and dancing in the evening and the most stunning outdoor ceremony spot. Surrounded by the rolling hills of the Clyde Valley.

So I was absolutely delighted when Chiara and Andrew got in touch with me to photograph their wedding day.

Their whole wedding was absolutely oozing with personality.

In Luxembourg it’s traditional for the groom to choose the bride’s flowers and so Chaira’s uncle delivered the surprise bouquet just before the ceremony.
Andrew’s mum (Kathleen who is handily a humanist wedding celebrant) conducted the most personal of ceremonies, including a traditional Scottish tradition of drinking whisky from the Quaich.

After the ceremony guests congratulated the newly married couple and toasted their marriage with a shot of Luxembourgish Honey Schnapps, made in Chaira’s home town/village.

I love little touches like this, bringing your personalities and sharing them with the people that mean the most to you in the world.
